Bathroom Progress!

The carpet is out of the bathroom! Wohooo! And I'm a little surprised to say, that it could have been so much worse. While tearing up the carpet, we found remnants of red and pink shag carpet in the bathroom and baby blue shag in the hallway. (Yeah, baby! Yeah! 1964 style) Also, while taking down the wallpaper, there were little pieces of pansy wallpaper. So, it could be much, much worse.

The good news:

1) the plumber is putting the shower in on Thursday

2) the cement subfloor is half in place

3) the tile, grout, and toilet are purchased

The bad news:

1) it maybe several weeks months, before we finish

2) we decided to refinish the louvered door cabinet....lots of sandpaper, elbow grease, and sore muscles

3) the whole project cost a weeee bit more than anticipated....so I have to keep the baby blue marble countertop for awhile longer

I'm actually really excited for the tile that will go in. We found a 6" x 24" black plank tile, as well as, a metallic tile (the dark strip of tile and the square 4" x 4" dark tile pictured below). Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later...now to make it happen! :)

The nice thing about the winter is that when the weather isn't nice, you don't mind staying inside updating the house. Until next time.
